Iron Bit Key Locks

Iron Bit Key house door locks

The exterior appearance of the X100 is the same as the X90 locks. The large bit key does not afford the security needed today and therefore the X100 is seldom used for exterior doors, except for restorations, where other security measures are taken. The X100 is ideal for interior doors that must be locked. The lock operates with the bit key on a "dead" (square ended) bolt, from both sides of the door and is the most authentic reproduction type.

STANDARD FEATURES: All X100 locks are furnished complete with round F32 knobs of the proper size, rosette, 9/32" square spindle, escutcheon, keeper, screws and brass bit key, ready to mount. All brass is "Golden Glow" polished and all iron is painted flat black.

SPECIALS AVAILABLE: A bottom mounted slide bolt for locking the "lock side" of the door, (not available on the "Carpenter" locks). Drops  X820, or a "full size keeper" as shown on the double door opposite. Oval knobs F34, nonstandard size round knobs, or "reverse" bolt for mounting the lock on the "wrong" side of the door.  See the Specials Page.
